the_j485 is banned for not seeing how awesome that end for HP would be. With the only better ending being "Harry succumbed to the snake venom, barely sucking in enough air through his swollen air tube to count as a final breath. Uncle Vernon looked at the child's body wondering what fevered dreams must have passed through Harry's mind as he lay dying. Aunt Petunia lamented 'If only Harry had noticed there was no glass between himself and the snake.'"
URMAHFURKINGGERD URSSUMM!
But I think the ending should have gone like this:
The prophecy. It had a hidden meaning. "One cannot live while the other survives".
Harry looked into the mirror. He saw all his friends, family, everyone he loved. He turned around, but there was nothing but cobwebs and his old, dusty room.
Harry had long outlived them all. Harry, unlike them, could not feel the ease of death. Harry could not die. He was immortal.
