Forge update errors

Title Forge update errors

Launcher Type FTB Launcher

Modpack Direwolf20 1.12.2

Modpack version 1.10.0

Have you modified the pack? Yes

Details of the issue Added the following mods, which were working (noted exception)
-Mekanism 4.5.341
-MekanismGenerators
-MekanismTools
-Plustic-6.4.0.0
-Tinkers_+Addons-1.12.1-1.0.7
-TinkerToolLevelling-1.12-1.0.3
-Thaumcraft-1.12.2-6.1.BETA (Was not working with Forge 1.12.2-14.23.2.2627; the error stated that I needed at least 1.12.2-14.23.2.2637)

Due to the above issue with Thaumcraft, attempted to update forge.
Installed forge into libraries\net\minecraftforge\1.12.2-14.23.2.2637
Updated pack.json on the following three lines:

"name": "net.minecraftforge:forge:1.12.2-14.23.2.2637:universal",
"checksums" : [ "fb3a00e75f1a8414ce272acfcca056c951dcfb57"
"id": "1.12.2-Forge14.23.2.2637:universal"

Saved the file, ran Direwolf20. Error is in the pastebin.
Tried with multiple versions of Forge (including latest/latest recommended), all with the same errors, so I'm clearly missing something. I have tried searching for the past few days, and haven't seemed to find a good fix. Apologies in advance if it's something dumb. Thanks!

i have the same issue, but instead the dire pack, i trying to install it on ftb revelations. same problem on creeperhost.
 
The mods are not the problem as I removed the entire folder and still the game crashed. There's something else involved.
 
Apparently that is not the right way to update to a newer forge version. I have no idea how to do it on the legacy FTB launcher. On the Twitch (Curse) launcher, it is just a couple clicks through the menus. When I installed forge on the vanilla launcher, it involved an installer app because it had to make changes inside the Minecraft jar.
 
When I install the pack, how do I upgrade Forge? There was nothing in the menu that I saw that could do it.

OK, got it to work. Thanks...although I would have preferred not to install Twitch and just use the regular FTB Launcher. Hopefully, Forge in the pack will be updated for that.
