I'm following this seup: http://i.imgur.com/GTqhyzo.jpg

I swear I've spent hours upon hours trying to breed bees.

Here's some backstory: Me and some friends have been playing on a server.

Lately I've devoted most of my time to farm pumpkin seeds for oil, creating impregnated frames and breeding off 9-12 apiaries.

I've gotten an imperial queen going away getting my ambrosia. I also have some other things.

I've bred about 6-7 resilient queens and spawn. I've been working on 2 sets of Industrious bees, but I can't get past the noble + unweary.

I've also tried to get 1 more set of imperial, but I again cannot get past the diligent and unweary.

So now onto my questions.

I've tried the 7 or so resilient with tons of cultivated bees, and I have gotten in maybe 3+ hours, a few rusty, a few lead, 1 tarnished drone and 2 corroded drones.

I've been saving the tarnished drone, and both corroded I have re-bred with Resilient queens in the attempt to get a Resolute. FAIL.

__________________________________________________________________________________

Why aren't I getting any Queens for tarnished or Corroded?

Why is it taking so long to get 2 industrious, imperial queen #2, and the other 2?

How an I speed this up with DNA liquid?? What is it? How is it done?

How come after dozens of rebreeding I can only every get a resilient queen / drone and a cultivated queen / drone back, and nothing higher up? It's soo rare, I've spent a good 3-4+ hours.

Does it normally take this long?

Once I get the drone I need (corr, tarn) how can I get those to breed queens into them?

Please help!

EXTRA INFO: They all work during night or day, some are nocturnal.
I sometimes sleep to make it day.
I gather all combs for beealyzer.
All (last hour of work) have 3 impregnated frames.
I have tried to get as many fast breeds instead of slow.
Sorry if I sound newbish / sound inexperienced. I've only use the wiki for what breeds to do, and I've literally done bees for maybe 2 days.

correct me if I'm wrong, but both those types can cause some sort of world greifing, by breaking blocks or whatnot.
It's probably hard to get because they don't want people on open servers to possibly bypass protection so easily.
Again, don't actually know this for sure...

Do you have XBee? Get the machine that can extract trait from bees, first extract the maximum fertility serum from wintry bees, then inject it to the bee pair that you want to mutate with it.

The chance of mutation with 3 soul frames is not 100% so I'm pretty sure you will get a lot of hybrids, but since there're like 4 offspring per cycle, you can always have the best drone to be rebred with your princess, and the rest (offsprings with active/inactive mutated bee species but not the best one) can be put into the XBee machine to be extracted for the tarnished and corroded traits, do this until you get tarnished and corroded serum, synthesize+purify them, and then inject it to the bee you want.

It's probably best to get an alveary ASAP so you can have 100% mutation rate with 2 mutator blocks and 2 uraniums, but above was the way I got to glittering without mutator blocks. Also, if you are not waiting for a mutation to happen and only want to try your luck with 2 hybrids that already have the mutating species trait in them, always use 3 chocolate frames since they will decrease the queen lifespan.

Er. Sorry to tell you this, but the 'recipe' for metallic bees changed recently.

If you have the newest version of extra bees, it's now Resilient and Diligent.

1) I'm not using bees for grief. Just trying to get the valuable bee

2) I want to know more about xBee. I have no idea how it works, so many machines. I easily have hundreds of drones in my indexer though, if that helps.

3) I wrote this late last night. The metallic bees are in fact resilient and diligent I believe, as I have gotten 3 leaden drones, 2 corroded drones, and 1 tarnished drone.

As an extra, I'm wondering once I get the specific drone how it's possible to get 100% princess into THAT drone. Let's say after 1 cycle I have 1 corroded and 1 resilient princess. How can I make sure I get the correct bees.

OR is it generally really hard to get these kind of higher tier bees? I got an imperial rather quickly, and my second attempt at getting an imperial seems to be taken forever. Could it have been the proven frames I had? I had a few when I first started from a village, but they are gone now.

Thanks for the help so far, maybe I can get some more info thanks!

It took me forever to get my corroded/rusty/tarnished bees, I swear the chance for leaden is a lot higher than the other 3. It looks like you're close to having the materials for an alveary, I would go for the alveary with mutator blocks like noskk suggested, it'll save you a lot of time and annoyance.
