So, Bees.
Finally got into them. Enough to produce an Alveary and breed up some interesting bee species. I logged off my server yesterday.

And when I logged in today, an emerald bee that I had popped into an apiary with some thermal ducting had made 600 drones - and a whole single stack of emeral combs.
The bees stats are Shortest lifespan -, and Fastest production speed. Is it really reasonable to have ~217 generations of bee in 24h

An alveary with my Hermitic bee had made 1200 mellow combs, and another alveary with a Lux bee had made 1500 glowstone.

1. Are these numbers expected for 24H? They are insane - and probably a lot higher as my AE system is only powered while I am online, and the multiple chests feeding into the import bust had become clogged with bee produce and probably stalled the bee cycling.
2. Don't understand why my base had been chunkloaded this long. direwolf20 is weired.

Sorry, was away on Fall Break. Am back and hoping it's not too late.

Yes, bees can make that much stuff if 'Fastest' production and with frames. Make sure your bee output / AE2 input can handle the comb overflow. I usually setup a dedicated set of Centrifuges for bee combs.

And, 'Shortest' lifespan can indeed make that many generations.

As for chunkloading, I suspect Thaumcraft nodes keep chunks loaded, yet they don't show as 'forced' in Opis. Some other blocks from other mods may also keep chunks loaded. An eIO conduit network, for instance, may keep all chunks loaded it traverses.

That's just a theory. I never did figure out what was causing chunks to be effectively loaded without having an explicit chunkloader there.

As to the thaumcraft nodes, no they do not chunk load. They merely have some sense of time, when they are reloaded they attempt to regen any vis they would have normally regenerated in that time. This is noticeable most often if you have some sort of teleport point next to a node which you'd previously drained (for example via botania's eye of the flugal) and the said node is in an area not usually chunk loaded. If you are fast enough, you'll notice the node suddenly jump up in how much it's storing when you teleport back to it after a fair delay.
