I just recently got chestnut trees and i want to harvest their chestnuts, i made the multi farm, attached water, power,a inv to pull from, made the pattern from the wiki, placed dirt on top and grew the chest nut trees, i put in the circut board for orchard, and waited

still nothing

anyone know whats wrong?

i can manually harvest them and get chestnuts

I think you have to wait for them to ripen first.

Takes a while for the first generation to ripen.

Once they get going, the rate of production is fairly constant though.

I got them in AG as they're good for seed oil. It takes a while, but they're starting to produce now.

Took 3-4 hours real world time for mine to start producing, seems like. The GUI in the farm will tell you if there is a problem. The farm will need a lot of water once it starts harvesting, btw. As far as fertilizer goes it won't need much at all. My master plan to be super efficient by burning peat from a sludge burner into ash to combine with apatite so that I'd have plenty of fertilizer was mostly pointless. Don't think I went through a stack getting the seed oil for the quest and enough for my other Forestry chores.

I had a problem a while back where when I placed the dirt myself the farm never automated. I had to remove all the dirt I placed, break one of the central Farm blocks, then put it back and let it place dirt itself. Maybe try that if it's still not working for you.
