I would like to automate the creation of saplings for the purpose of efficient biomass production. I have a multifarm harvesting trees, and I get saplings, but they are placed in the germlings inventory, which I can pipe out of.

For now I can manually move the saplings to my fermenter, but I'd prefer the process be automated in the future. Any suggestions?

Let the germlings/saplings inventory fill up and they will then drop into the bottom section inventory of the farm which you can output from the bottom of a hatch.

From the farm hatch attach a relay underneath it (so you will have to place the hatch underneath the farm block), from the relay attach tubes straight into a fermenter (top side). If you want an interim storage do this instead.... hatch > relay > tubes to top of a barrel, underneath barrel you can either use a filter>tubes to fermenter or use buildcraft pipes/gates to fermenter.

I don't think that relay is such a good idea. I'm using hatch with 2 pipes with autharcic gates to keep up with farm output. However I'm using quite good trees (large walnut with triple saplings, fastest growth). Just piping the saplings to the row of fermenters should be enough, you can add diamond pipe to the last fermenter not to void too many saplings.

Actually relay works quite good, I thought that farms output to it like to normal pipe. However I'm not a fan of using RP2 for automation of single systems if I'm not using other RP2 things like transposers, deployers or blockbreakers. It is great for connecting different systems together on short distance (for longer RC is best).
