I have used the new multifarm blocks to successfully make a tree farm and a vegetable/crop farm. The reed farm is giving me trouble, as in it doesn't seem to be doing anything. I have power, sand, water, fertilizer and the stone brick structure underneath it. All hooked up correctly but still nothing.

I have tried placing water around in random places in the sand and still nothing. Also tried dirt/humus and bog earth for experimenting purposes. Nothing going. Anyone see what I may be missing or doing wrong.

I am not 100% positive on that, but I think, that you should pre-plant the reeds and the farm will harvest the 3rd block on each reed.

Yeah, that did it. Thank you for that, I feel kinda dumb not trying that option but I can't be the only one overlooking that and hopefully this thread will help others.

The difference between managed farms and manual farms - in some cases there's a managed and manual version for a farm so you need to specify it when you make the circuit board - is that managed farms handle all the planting of farmland and seeds automatically, although they don't pick ideal patterns for growth, whilst managed farms only harvest automatically.

Reed farms, as you have discovered, are manual.

Hey guys,

I'm probably missing something terribly stupid :p but how do you plant the reeds on the farm? You can only place them next to water as far as i know.

Can you please share how you did it? :D

thanks!

Manually put the water down in the farmland, then you should be able to farm to your hearts desire.
