FML issue

Hello. Last night I downloaded the Direwolf20 V 5.0.1 as well as Univesial Electricity Pack (latest version as I am not on my computer so I cannot tell you which version off hand). After downloading the server version from the link given on this post: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/pack-updates-and-new-packs.9452/page-7#post-110322 I found that the server loads fine but when I try to conntect to it I get an error with FML. I believe the message said that FML is either not loaded or there was an incompatability (I can give more infor tonight when I get home from work). A friend of mine found a forum post on the minecraft forge website that acknowledged the issue and gave a link to a bukkit temp fix for 1.2.5. Maybe I am just missing something but any help would be well enjoyed.

As a side quetion I am trying to start a vanillia server and I am getting that my server is out of date so any help here is welcomed. Yes I am new to servers in general but I followed a youtube video that gave execellent details on how to make a server and my friend helped with the port forwarding.

Hello Retro, welcome on FTB

Last night there where indeed several reports of the FML error your referring to (FML was finding mc version 1.4.6 instead of 1.4.7), there are several ppl who posted a workaround / solution this morning (EU time) how to get it working
I whould suggest to try a force update in the launcher first to see if that fixes it, if not you might wanna read: http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/ftb-downloading-incorrect-minecraft-jar.8815/#post-101855.

On your sidenote, could you upload some serverlogfiles to pastbin, we might be able to find the problem and help you with it

When I get home I will. I don't remember off hand if there were errors on the server. I just couldn't connect to my server but it did show up. I am not using the launcher as I got it directly from the link. I am more then willing to delete and uninstall things if need be. Thank you Ness.

EDIT:

I downloaded the launcher and got my server up and running!!! Also got a newer exe file for the vanilla server if I want to run it. Now I just need to figure out how to put more RAM for the server. I got 16 Gigs to play with and a quad processor. Thanks again Ness and any more help is welcome!

Ness, if I want to allocate more ram for my server should I use Minecraft_Sever or the server of the modpack I am using? Thanks

You are using the serverdownload from the website i presume?
Just edit either your start server.bat or the start server.sh and change the -xmx value to 1G or 2G or 3G what ever you want to max allocate.
