Fluid Cows

Hi, I'm playing skyfactory 2.5 and I'm having an issue with fluid cows. I got a bunch randomly across my base, not in the pen I made for my animals, and the minute I started automating them they stopped spawning. Problem is, I don't have some of the fluid cows I need. Please help, what am I doing wrong?

I'm unsure, but I know my farm area is a ways away from where I have my fluid cow system set up

How much is "ways away"?
Try "golden lasso" to temporary downcount cows.

Good tip with the golden lasso. Even just for lag management, I routinely store my cows in libraries of lassos. That way I can pull out the few I need and run those for a while, and not have all the clutter. Also the cows tend to run off every time I teleport back and the entities appear before the fences that hold them. ;-)

I believe there is a natural mob cap of 4, meaning that if you have 4 cows in a loaded chunk no more will spawn.
Additionally they need grass, light and only spawn 25 blocks or more away from the player
