I vaguely recall there being some sort of Bridge Building module for getting across pits and pools.

I've found other ways of mining but the most fun way so far has been physical mining with tinker's construct (I got 20+ stacks of ore last night from one 2hr mining session and a new dwarven fortress!) I still like looking for other ways to mine like MFR's Laser Drill, it's awesome but drains TONS of power and gives me little reward in the way of materials so I may just nix that but it gives silk touched goodies! and silk touched netherquartz... huh... but yea I'll def try this out for a change of pace. hope you got what you were looking for trippy

Have you tried the Arcane Bore?
I just want a mining system that will always mine and does not need to be moved or reset, so that it will just keep going and going. I would like to make a mining machine with Redpower frames but alas FTB Unleashed has not yet included it. That is why I've been messing with Steve's Carts but, like other mining tools I find myself needing to babysit it in order to prevent issues.

On a completely unrelated and most likely inappropriate topic, I've been a little bit lonely on my FTB Unleashed server and I decided to try and recruit some hopefully experienced players (I myself am very experienced as well). Also yes I have used the arcane bore :)

You can make a moving tunnelbore with MFFS and AE Transition Planes in Unleashed if that is what you want. Is actually quite a bit easier/simpler to build than an equivalent redpower2 frame machine.

Here is a screenshot of a basic mining terminal setup using a similar design to the video posted already. I bring in torches, bricks, coke, arrows, and track with AE. Bring in lava and water with Thermal Expansion. Send mined stuff out with Buildcraft(I like seeing what's coming in to my base so I have a short section of BC pipe near my main crafting area. System is on hold now, the track remover cart is in the chest. :p

I would rather work out my issues with steves carts lol

Turtles? Excavate command with a bucket of lava from 64 will reach bedrock. Then move it around the chest and run it again. It'll chew up a lot of ground very quickly.

Ok so I got some things figured out but I am still having some problems if someone wants to give me a hand. I want to keep at least a stack of coal, rails, torches, and stone in the cargo manager at all times for the cart to use. So I'm having problems trying to do this with Applied Energistics. I also want to know how to only import/export items to/from a certain section of the manager. Thanks for the help!

You use a Cargo Distributor on each Cargo Manager. I split up each Manager into "sides", then match each quadrant to a face on the Distributor, then have an AE export bus on each of those faces, each bus exporting the item for that particular face.

I'd give you screenshots of the block interfaces but I just crashed our server by moving a bit too much water, I think.

No, you use one manager and then the distributor beside it. On the interface for the manager one of the buttons splits the two inventories into four, and the distributor can pull out of or push into specific ones. This stops your AE system from sucking all of the coal/charcoal out if it's only supposed to be taking wood in. So the red side of the distributor only pulls out of the upper left inventory of the manager for example.

psst....check out Calaclavian's MFFS.

Assuming you get the Force Field set up right, it will do EXACTLY what you want. It can even work as an airship above the surface, and nab everything below a certain Y level, without leaving a massive hole on the surface.
