So I'm trying to get a filter to deposit to a pipe. The base setup I have is a filter with a timer next to it, and a single seed within. No pipes. This works; I can throw seeds in front and it sucks them up and spits them out the back.

But when I add a transport pipe to the back of the filter, it continues to just throw seeds out the back instead of depositing them to the pipe (which leads to a chest, it's not just throwing them out the end of the pipe or anything).

I've tried using different ends, different qualities of transport pipe (wood through obsidian)... nothing seems to work. There are YT vids that show the exact setup I have and it works there. :X

Thanks! I would never have gotten that. Why don't they work with pipes anymore?
They never did. One thing you can do is having an obsidian pipe, two blocks away from the filter. It will not work if the obsidian pipe is one block away.

This is what I do. Or more to the point I have it fire into a box made of covers that has a obsidian pipe under it. works like a champ for RP to BC tube/pipe cross over needs.

You could use the relay instead. The stone side goes toward pipes.

You can also use them like this:

The nice thing is that relays also have a buffer, this way you always have a few stacks of cobble/sand in the line, with no extra machinery.

Heya!

ive seen that suggested on several places, but relays do not output directly to pipes, you still need the obsidian pipe trick dont you?

It would be awesome if there was a convenient way to void stuff with RP2 or at least properly connect a pipe to a RP2 machine.

The relay has been put in by elo to make that possible, switching between, bc pipes and rp tubes, as well as pulling items from an adjacent inventory, that can't put stuff into a rp pipenetwork. They also work as a buffer.

Yeah, you're right, I must admit that the TC machines example made me believe that w/o actually testing, I'm sorry. And thanks for pointing it out.

Still, the relays work slightly better for that I think, so at least there's that.

The thing is its not "switching between" because its only BC->RP. Theres no "proper" way of doing RP->BC.

Yeah not directly if you mean that, but there has never been a problem ejecting into bc pipes ;)
