Feed the Beast version problems!

Hello mates,I'm trying to play Feed the Beast with a friend of mine but am having some issues.When I download the file (I tried both the .exe and .jar files) but when I check what version it is running Minecraft in, it says 1.4.2. My friends feed the beast is in 1.4.5 and thus I can't play with him because of "Outdated client".I have tried multiple times and re-downloaded the files,but all of them run Minecraft 1.4.2.Please help!Any help would be appreciated ASAP.:(.

There are 2 packs - FTB Beta A which is 1.4.2 and FTB magic world which is 1.4.5, are you connecting using the correct pack?
