I have the same problem with Ultimate on my Mac. For some reason, it goes to the "FML is setting up your Minecraft environment", and after it says Minecraft is valid, it crashes straightaway. I had a look at the console, and for some reason it says theres a Null Pointer Exception in an AWT thread. AWT, I believe, is the Windowing API that comes built into Eclipse to make Windows with Java, but I'm not sure. And a Null Pointer Exception? If that's to do with AWT, how does it affect Minecraft and moreover how does it affect FTB? Should it not be a Null Pointer Exception with an LWJGL thread? This leads me to believe that it might just be a problem with the launcher and not Minecraft/FTB/LWJGL, and somehow it's launching wrong, causing a Null Pointer Exception and not letting FTB Run because of it.

I can't find any error output file, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong location. The game just crashes. It doesn't take me to the crash screen, it just exits. If someone can tell me where the error output file is and if I find it, I'll edit this post, remove this text and replace it with the error output file.

I've given FTB/Minecraft 2.5GB RAM, and I only have 4GB. I intend to record FTB as well, so I'd need about 1GB for that I think, so ideally I'd need to give it 2GB RAM, so I have 1GB for Screenflow(my recorder) and 1GB just left over for maybe Google Chrome or something to look up documentation on stuff. I'd be ok lowering my settings, because I don't care. I just want to be able to record FTB, learn how to use redstone and ComputerCraft with Lua(I know Lua, and have made a half-finished video tutorial series on it).

Also, if you're going to say "Just use Windows", don't bother replying. You wouldn't believe how many people have said it to me(not here, but on other forums for API's/Frameworks for programming).

Thanks! Any help is appreciated!

On a Mac it is recommended to either downgrade to Java 6 or update your lwjgl to 2.9 Your files for the lwjgl is in your modpack folder so you need to update each modpack you wish to use.

If neither works please post a console log in debug mode to pastebin.com and link to it here. This guide will help with the log.
