My brother used to host the server's for all of the mods we played and recently his computer has gotten too dated to do so. I now have a new computer and am trying to start hosting at least a Direwolf20 server but no matter what I try, I can't seem to host it. The server will come up for me with 1 bar of connect and 2k ms (however there's no visible lag when in-game) but my brother and friends can't connect at all, as if the server was offline. I've looked at forums for ages and tried so many different things, but none of them have worked. I used to try hamachi, nothing. Now that hamachi's going to become pay-to-use I port-forwarded, still nothing. Anyone have any help? (We share the same internet service and everything, he hosted on hamachi.) [Also one of my cousins tried this and it has the same results for him, we both have windows 8, as far as I've seen that's the only similarity]

What are your ISP conditions? I.E. Do you have control of your own modem, or do you live in a building with shared internet? I had a similar problem when I was living in college accommodation and I was not able to resolve the problem as the building staff would have had to port forward for me - just forwarding on my personal router was not enough.
