Extremely low framerate on a powerful PC

Hi!
I'm playing the Direwolf20 pack (with optifine installed, using internal shader) and my framerate barely hits 40FPS on my PC. (CPU: i7 5820K / RAM: 32GB / GPU: GTX 1080Ti), and gets as low as 2. How can I fix this and get at least 50FPS?
 
Optifine is not in the pack default - not supported either.
(there could still be someone that might have a solution for your issue - but it's officially supported + as it's summer, just giving you expectations that a answer might not come, or take a long time)

Do you have FPS issues with the default setup of the pack?
(without any added or removed mods - that includes optifine)
