FTB Launcher version (if this isn't the newest update update and try again):
1.2.2
Minecraft Version:
1.4.6
Java version:
1.7.0_10
Detailed description of the issue / how can the issue be recreated:
When in mind craft my ping shows up over 2000 and when playing there is a huge delay between actions that require server input (like opening a chest). But if I ping the server directly I get a 90ms ping. The lag seems to die down to probably a 700 to 1000 ms delay after around 10-20 minutes on the server.
-Thanks

Have you added any other mods to this server?
From my knowledge, due to the amount of mods Mindcrack uses, it generates a LOT of lag.

Looks like the automatic paste bin creation only does a 24 hour paste. I'll see if I can get the error again. I'm still having really bad lag when other people are connected to the server, but it seems like when no one else is connected things work better.

It doesn't seem to matter where I am. My initial thought was that it was due to all the machinery that was around, but I still have lots of lag in the Twilight forest which doesn't have any machinery in it.

If the server is laggy you will have lag anywhere you are so thats normal. Twilight forest is know to be buggy and causing laggy experience. Maybe try to disable that mod and check how it goes for abit?

Cable straight into the router. My pc is an i5 with 4 gigs of ram and a Radon 6850. I've verified that I'm not running any bit torrents or things that would cause excessive network use. My internet is a sad 3mb down dsl.

Not only you should verify on your pc but also any other pc / device on the network ;)

3mb down should be enough for minecraft (with our without mods), think mindcrack uses in peaks 1mbit.
did you try rebooting your router to see if that helps? i know i need to reboot mine once a month with all the connections i'm making on a daily base

So we did a little more testing on what is going on, it's very strange. For instance when I say something in chat everyone on the server sees it immediately, but I see it anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes after I sent it. The same goes for other player movement I will see what they were doing 1-5 minutes ago. I don't have this problem with other games. Sometimes in the morning when I log in I have no problems everything works like it should, but in the evenings it is basically unplayable. I have checked on other FTB mindcrack servers and I have a similar problem.

We just tried having me go through a gaming proxy service and everything seems to work fine. I have no idea what the problem is I really don't want to have to pay for a proxy service to play on a server that's 100 miles from me.

i whould say try a different pc in your internal network to see if the problem stays, ifso it's your connection (aka contact your ISP) / check your router, if not it's your pc.

Hi! I've exactly the same problems as Gishe here... Extreme lag but only on my client. Other players can see what i write, do, ... 1 minute before I see it...^^
I've checked the internet connection of the javaw.exe and there is 0% packet loss and around 90ms ping to the server

No solutions for this? :(
I've seen that the porblem appears when there are some more players online. If I log into the server now (03.25 AM^^) so there are 2 or 3 other players and everything works fine.
But it's not the server. Because when there are 10 or more players I'm the only one who has this kind of lags. All others can play well.
It must be some client or java issue...

If you only experience this lag when there are 10 or more people connected to the server, then it's the server. Whether it's how the server is being broadcast or how you're connecting to it. Just because you're the only one experiencing the lag, doesn't mean your machine is the problem.
Follow the troubleshooting guide on the knowledgebase (link in signature). It should help.
