Whenever I try to run a FTB YogCraft server and play at the same time i get horrible lag, like block ticking, chests not opening for an extended period, and my friend is not even walking, but instead laggily jumping around and then stopping, then jumping to another spot again.

I never had any problems like this with a Vanilla server, my Voltz server or even my Tekkit server. My computer is pretty decent and should be able to run it fine, but just in case I tried to put the server on my desktop and play on my laptop (and vise versa) and I was still getting awful lag, I couldnt even connect when the server was on the desktop, not lag related, i dont know why.

I'm running on Windows 7
My specs are:
System Model- HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
Processor- AMD A8-3510MX APU with Radeon HD Graphics, 1800 Mhz, 4 Cores, 4 logical processors
RAM- 8.00 GB

Kinda new to this whole 'help' thing, I can usually troubleshoot myself but this is being to stubborn, so tell me if I need to give more/less info on my PC, Thank you so much.

Ok, I suppose I will try and troubleshoot this, even though its a little vague.

First, can we have the specs of the desktop machine? Second, its a smart choice to play on 1 computer and host on the other. Your laptop is not suited to doing both. I am going to assume both are on the same network aka LAN. In that case, you don't connect using the external IP, you use the local IP. Local IP's follow this format: 192.168.x.x. The first x is always 1 unless your running subnets, which means you have your network linked using repeaters, switchs, or other means. Most people don't unless they are a business.
Some critical info thats missing is the HDD or SSD that both the server is hosted from, we need full specs.

Actually, I used my external IP for all of my other servers, and I couldnt connect when I used it to host on my desktop, i tried it. But I could try again, I'll get you my other comp's specs. It's not the worlds best computer by any means XD, and How do i find the HDD? is it under system info?

Desktop is out of the picture for use as the server. It only has 2 gigs of RAM, Windows 7 uses near half of that by itself. That leaves only 1 gig for the server, and you want at least 500mb per person on the server, so you simply lack the RAM. Also, could you find what HDD is in your laptop?

Thats your HDD and its not going to cut it for hosting, its only got 8mb of cache and its RPM is only 5400, most servers use 7200 or a SSD.
Next, what is your internet speed? Not the speed your router says, not what your ISP says they are giving you, what are you actually getting when you run a speedtest?
If thats good, maybe you can salvage your server performance a little with these steps:

https://github.com/nallar/TickThreading/blob/master/INSTALL.md

A more involved approach is removing Windows 7, and installing a lighter weight OS, that can sometimes help.

Ok, thats enough speed for 1, maybe 2 people to connect from the outside if your not doing anything. Each connected person needs around 1mb/s of upload speed on your end to be playable. I suggest trying the link I send you involving Tick Threading, be sure to make a complete backup first.
