Extract specific # of items from a chest

Hey, I need a clever way to extract a specific # of an item out of a chest no matter how many are in it at any given time, and ideas or help would be appreciated.

thaumcraft clay golem keeps assigned inventory stocked with set number if items.

hmmm didn't think of clay golems...that's actually very clever...time ot go screw with thaumcraft...
though the time I'd spend on that I could probably write a turtle program...sigh
