Extra bees/bee breeding help

So im successfully managed to breed up imperial and industrious bees.

I want to make a ton of resilient bees for the obvious ore generation later on, but i cant get stone bees to happen.

I try breeding rocky princesses with pure diligent drones and usually get diligent bees.

Is there a trick to getting the princesses to change or is it all luck? It feels like diligent overpowers rocky/stone every time.

I believe you need to mix your Rockys with Commons, not Diligent.

Edited: just checked a master cheat sheet... It does say Diligent but Common has been working for me, so give it a go anyway. Good luck!

another thing you may want to look into is using the soul frames (impregnated frame + soul sand) to speed up the mutation process. that, and beealyzer them so you can see exactly what types they are. just doing the jungle, imperial, and industrious, it seems the more pure the two are also give a higher chance at mutation

I found if you have ThaumicBees installed that the Necrotic Frame is awesome for fast breeding put 3 in an apiary and the poor lil buggers die almost instantly doesn't matter that the chance of mutation is the base chance you can run several generations through in the same time it would normally take for one, though be aware this will absolutely gut your aura, worth it though

Thanks guys. I live next to an unstable node (didn't realize it until I logged in to find 30 wisps flying about) so I might not want to do that last part since I just got it under control. I think.

If you get Tolerant Bees instead of Stone Bees: That's perfectly normal, because the Stone bee has been renamed in 1.5.0.2.

I was rummaging through my bees and found a stone bee I bred at one point. Would breeding a stone drone with a rocky princess yield more stone bees? What happens when you breed like that? If I bred a diligent bee and an industrious bee even though you get industrious from diligent + unweary does that work to get industrious?

Only certain combinations (like diligent + unweary) have a chance of mutations. If there is no chance of a mutation you just get a mix of the two bees. In the case of a diligent + industrious bee you just get a hybrid.
