Lost as always
I want some sort of chalk for writing alchemy circles and @!#$ on the ground. >:c And something like how Gregtech has the elements and everything on the items. and byproducts and splitting things up. I think that'd be great.
Eh, transmutation circles are for newbies. Real alchemists know how to get one going just by clapping your hands together to form a circle with your arms. Of course, the price for that knowledge is a bit steeper than most are willing to pay for it...

Besides, Ars Magica already has something like that.

So in short stop blaming the mods we need to take the blame :), its human nature to take the easy route from point A to B.

So if there's a mod that gives everyone creative powers on a server we should just add it to the pack because we "should not blame the mod"?

It's always important to keep an eye on the implications of adding a certain mod to the pack if it allows users to bypass a lot of gameplay. What I dislike about EE3 is that it basically removes the need for blaze and ender farms on servers. Those tend to be nice community projects but people now just can't be bothered because these items (supposed to be semi-rare) are 'free'.

One thing I have noticed is that most ppl some that should know better make blaze farms in communal areas this will cause fps lag, hint, make a grinder area or age & link to & from, I my self make multi grinders so a flip of a lever fills barrels with what ever I need for a given project or research, & auto enchants books or items, is this OP yes ofc it is will I go a long winded rout to achieve the same results no, & I like to make quicksand traps for endermen farms as its fps lag free & for me more fun.

As too a creative powers mod comon really thats the best example you could think up, no comment.

You kid right? Once the dragon is dead, pearls are like dirt. Anybody not using a farm "because pearls arn't rare" isn't thinking things through.

Exactly. Once the dragon is dead. Not "once I have mined some iron". That's why I dislike EE3, it removes resource progression.

Modded Minecraft has resource progression? The only gated resource I know of in any modded minecraft is Gregtech iridium and some advanced Factorization Upgrades gated on finding a logic matrix programmer. Otherwise, everything is available pretty much from day one, right?

I suppose Vanilla does have ONE gate, to get blaze rods and wither skeletons you need at least 4 iron ingots and one flint (or a lot of luck and 3 iron ingots). But this is less a progression and more a mellow sway on the road.

And as minecraft mods power creep, more and more of these sacred cows will be rejected. Like, uh, pretty soon one of us will be making crafting tables except for decoration.

You're the one that was sighing over the fact people don't build enderman farms. Well, vanilla style ones all but require the dragon to die.

i lol'd.

But still, it'd be great to have a small system kind of like MineChem... even if another mod uses something similar, why can't EE3 use it?

I am eager to see Runic Dust get ported to 1.5.1. I dunno why I hadn't heard of that mod before. It seems amazing!

Anyhow, I believe in Pahimar.

The server I play on now has no Soul Shards.

Should I *gulp* make a vanilla mob farm!

*everyone dies for the mere IMPLICATION of Vanilla anything*

Like people who blame solar panels for making the game too easy. I'd much rather make a complex, hard to build system to make my energy.
Well that new Fusion Reactor setup is then right up your ally, idk if it's just a "joke" or it'll actually beat the same surface area of solars.

I said "complex and hard to build" as in requiring thought and clever design, though I understand you brought fusion up because I mentioned "hard". gregtech just requires a lot of materials, and gives you a ton of power. To quote Enigmius1, something I highly agree with but in no disrespect to Gregtech,

GregTech is best saved for people who have already been around the mod pack block a few times but lack the creativity to define their own objectives once they finish making the gear that apparently signals the end of the game.
Gregtech tells you what to do, and gives you an objective. Which is fine though, some people like having something to do. I'd rather create something simple to understand, clever, and efficient.

When I need enderpearls I just grab a few bags worth from a neighbour (who has over a million in AE storage) and then either convert them to iron, or throw them in a xycraft fabricator with minimum-stone-pulverizer made blaze powder then pulverize the eyes of ender which are automatically used as an amplifier for tasty uu-matter :D
I'm not sure why this thread had to be made yet again, but I guess it's been a week or two since the last one :p

*Sigh*

"Hey, EE2 was way too op, so let's make EE3 and make it way less cheaty!"

*First beta test is released to the public*

The first thing we can do is duplicate blaze rods. The EXACT same exploit that was in EE2. And that exploit has been known for over a year now.
I need to check if we can exploit bones. We probably can.

Ah well, I'll probably uninstall this thing before it gets any more 'additions'. I'm usually not this harsh to mods in development, but this is the first release and we already have a huge exploit that we can use to generate infinite blaze rods. If there's a way to transmute blaze rods into other metals then this has already become EE2. Putting only a single item into your first release, I don't have a problem with that. But when you put a single item into your first release that's incredibly OP and can duplicate things, that I'm not ok with.

Seriously though, this should have been fixed by now. It's a brand new mod, we've already given it a second chance to succeed, and it has a bug from the previous version still in it somehow.
I'll only respect this mod again when they fix this exploit.

Na I still make vanilla mob systems sometimes. Mostly I make them to get endermen without going to the end.
