exe, jar, or app?

Hey guys!
I'm new to FTB, my friend just told me about it the other day, so I'm going to download the launcher tonight. But first, which download do I want? There are three buttons to choose from: exe. jar. and app. Does it matter which one I choose, or will only one work for my computer? Is one 'better' than the others? This has probably been mentioned somewhere on the forums already, but I decided to just ask it here instead of scouring the whole website for an answer :) Thanks for reading, can't wait to try it out!
 
Exe is for Windows and jar is for linux (also Windows compatible) and I think app is for apple. They should all run the same. :p

Like Christophernjsp said, go for the exe file. Do you have an idea of what pack you want to learn/play?
