Err, how do you power a Bedrock Breaker?

I believe (don't quote me on this) that you can aim it towards the bottom. Or ask an admin to break a few blocks to let you use it (kofkof creative mod kofkof)
you can.
Monster pack at least has an additional few layers of bedrock to grind off before the final one, which IS indestructible by default.
initially you will need a bevel gear to route the power into the downward facing grinder. grind out 3 blocks and you can cram it all in w/o the bevel.

theres also the nether roof, the TF mazes, other dimensions. . .

my progression so far has been
steam engine-grinder-fermenters-ethanol-gas engine-extractor-solar tower.

start small(ish) and work your way up to bigger and better stuff.

It can, how much power? Probably the same amount then the bedrock breaker :p

Probably, but it doesn't hurt to throw more at it. I haven't been able to mess with it yet since I seem to attract random explosions like a magnet, so I can't confirm anything.

The advantage of the bore is that it won't have to be moved every 4 blocks. Set it to 1x1 and just let it go indefinitely. That said the last time I tried to use it on bedrock I couldn't get it working. Probably is a whitelist/blacklist, might want to check that out before building too much. :)

No, you can, it just takes a s**t ton of power.

It should only work for TF's maze block and the nether ceiling. Try giving it at least the same amount of torque then thr bedrock breaker

Couple things to add since Reika's been busy and things have changed:
  • The "good" industrial coil, which outputs 4096 speed and torque, requires bedrock dust itself, so its not an option to get your bedrock mining operation started.
  • Bedrock breaker requires 2MW of power, which means two "regular" industrial coils working together (shaft junction), geared for torque to 8192nm. They don't last long (4 blocks or so)
  • I've had excellent luck using the Shaft Power Bus for my early bedrock mining once I have my first "good" coil. Bedrock breakers aren't very expensive, so spam a few of them and have them all running off the same SPB Controller. At 4096 rads/torque (16MW) you can run 8 bedrock breakers simultaneously (I run 4)
  • I only get 2 dust per bedrock block broken. Someone mentioned 4 above, so YMMV.
  • In very brief testing, it took 3 gas turbines (!!) to break through Twilight Forest Maxe bedrock. This was 1 version ago. I may have botched the test, so, again, YMMV. But once you have it running through a maze, you'll get all the bedrock dust you're going to need for the foreseeable future.

I was given to understand that the borer only worked on TF bedrock in a maze. Can you confirm?

If you read the info in game about the borer, it says something about breaking magic bedrock. I believe you can you some sort of cannon to breaks maze walls and stuff too

Right, the manual is referring to Twilight Forest maze bedrock I believe. But as far as I know, the borer does not work on bedrock in the regular world.

I know you can take the bedrock off the top of the nether... maybe if you provide it A LOT of torque?

One can point bedrock breaker downward and then get what you want in overworld.

I think this is known, its just that in some modpacks, there's no "mineable" layer. If FlatBedRock is at layer0 and the correct config option isn't enabled (something about bedrock breaking into the void), this won't work.

In Deep dark you can find void openings, so it might be possible to mine there? At least I did not try.
