Hello I am confused on how energy is transferred using these conduit pipes.

I have a setup that i am trying to generate seed oil using biogas engines ( that run on seed oil )

I have a wheat, pumpkin and melon farm constantly producing seeds that are being piped to 12 squeezers

I am using 5 biogas engines to power the squeezers while they constantly supply them with seed oil, and excess is piped into a large tank

So with 5 biogas engines on seedoil that produce 3mj = 3x5 = 15MJ, i read that for each machine you connect with a energy conduit you lose 5% of your power, i have 12 squeezers + 1 energy cell ( the energy cell then powers the multi farms ) so that means 13 x5 = 65% power lose, 65% of 15 is 9.75

15 - 9.75 = 5.25

So now do all of my machines receive 5.25MJ of power? or is this 5.25MJ of power split between all of my 13 machines?

In 1.4.7 you lose 5% for each independent run of conduit. If I understand your setup you are probably losing 5% in your main engine network and 5% on your energy cell network.

Your 12 squeezers + energy cells are sharing 15 * .95 = 14.25 MJ/t. If they don't need the MJ they will stop taking power and the 14.25 MJ/t will be split to the machines still doing work.

Assuming they are all asking for power that is a little over 1 MJ/t to each machine + energy cell.

After the energy cell if you have another conduit network you will lose 5% of whatever it is outputting.

In 1.5.2 you only pay the 5% once -- conduits + energy cells form one continuous network.

well that explains why they were running so slow only getting 1MJ each, thank you. i'll try decreaseing the amount of squeezers i have and add an extra engine

could i possibly have a biogas engine for each squeezer and still make a net profit of seed oil?, or would the engines use more then the squeezers produce? - granted all the squeezers are constantly running?

At 5MJ a squeezer takes 25 secounds with 10 seeds to produce 1 bucket of seed oil ( 1,000 mb? ), I am unsure on how much seedoil a biogas engine uses on an average minute

Thank you again peppe ( i am still using 1.4.7 )
