Hello forums.
I have an ender quarry connected to a tesseract and for some reason, the power drain and mining speed vary.
On one location, I put the quarry down and connected it to a tesseract. After some time, the quarry would fully charge (it looked like RF was always at max) and it was incredibly fast, thousands of blocks scanned each second. Yes, I had speed 3 upgrade.
After it was done, I had to re-locate it and then the "problems" started.

Quarry is now hooked to the same tesseract and still has speed 3 upgrade, however, it's RF is always at minimum and it's barely scanning any blocks, like 50 each second.

I dunno what exactly I did to drastically decrease speed, so anyone has any ideas?

Check your RF connections on the other side of the tesseract, just in case. You might be using something like hardened by accident if you've done anything else in your base in the meantime.

Also check that the upgrades are in the same chunk as the Ender Quarry block. The Ender Quarry only keeps 2 chunks loaded (the chunk with the Quarry and the chunk being currently mined), so it is possible for the upgrades to be placed in a chunk that gets unloaded if the Quarry is close to a chunk boundary.

It uses a different amount of power varying on the block hardness (how fast it is to break manually). The quarry might need more power for the harder blocks than you're giving it.

I am using energy converters. MFSU->EU consumer -> energy bridge -> RF Producer -> Tesseract.
On the other side, Tesseract is directly connected to the Quarry. Energy bridge says I'm outputting 8 kRF/t.

I checked it, doesn't seem to be it. I relocated the speed upgrade and the speed remained the same. That being said, I just realized I should probably disconnect speed upgrade and see if quarry is draining less power.

It uses a different amount of power varying on the block hardness (how fast it is to break manually). The quarry might need more power for the harder blocks than you're giving it.

I guess that could be it, but the difference in power/speed seems too drastic then. I am mining in twilight forest, and quarry was able to mine even the hardest to break blocks easily.

Thanks for the help guys tho.

Maybe the chunk where is the MFSU is unloaded you chould put a chunk loader or something else. Maybe it's a problem with the RF Producer or the energy bridge. You should look for bugs in this version of power converter.

Speed upgrades increase the power need way more than they increase the speed so it could easily be that. Speed 3 takes 224k RF/t at the minimum while the quarry only uses 700 RF/t without any upgrades. If you only have 8k RF/t to give to it you can't even run speed 2 at full speed because that would take 23k RF/t. And those numbers are just mining stone without other upgrades.

I have chunk loader next to the MFSU, it's loading 9 chunks, so that's not it. Tho checking bugs for those mobs is good idea, thank you.

How is it 224k rf/t?
It says that quarry uses 700, and speed 3 says it requires x2 power to be ran. What am I missing? Shouldn't it be 1.4kRF/t?
Also, lets assume it really is 22kRF/t, how is it possible that quarry ran perfectly fine before on even less energy per tick?

Also, I probably should have mentioned. There is this Overclock mode that happened before for some reason. It happens and stops on it's own, so if anyone knows more about it, that could help a lot. Tried googling it, but no luck.

It's a bit unclear but it means double power per operation but because it also runs tremendously faster it goes up in usage pretty fast. Speed 3 is probably slower than speed 2 for you because it uses more power per operation but since your power is limited it will have less progress per RF. 700 RF/t is the base value when mining pure stone without any upgrades. It actually takes more than one tick for it to process a single block but speed upgrades lower the amount of ticks needed per single block while also increasing the power used per single block. It probably runs better until your batteries run dry and then slows down because you're not actually producing 8k RF/t.

Ohhh, that makes sense! Thanks!
