I've started up a new server for my children and I using a slightly modified mindcrack version (updated forge, added mystcraft, portal gun, grav gun).

I have been using an ender chest & pouch to transfer stuff back to my base into my primitive sorting system. I put a diamond to "lock" the enderchests but my son said he can still see the stuff in them. I thought the diamond made it on a per-player setup rather than a open to the whole server type of thing.

Is this a bug? or a "feature"?

I think that it only moves it to a private frequency so that you don't have conflicting enderchests, at least that's all it says on the mcforum thread. Is he able to take stuff out though?

Then yes, it's working as it's supposed to. The diamond is just to prevent using the same frequency as another player. If you want to lock it though there's some forge mods that allow you to lock things such as fighu's mod.

Lock is maybe the wrong word, I would call it syncing. IC2's personal safes are the best way to truly lock items. Mining lasers won't destroy them, haven't tried with a quarry though...

Maybe not "locked", but it says it gets moved to a "personal" frequency or something like that. So if I have a red-purple-blue chest and smack it with a diamond, anybody who opens it should get their own personal red-purple-blue "frequency". At least that's the way I assumed it worked.

Since the effect is so minor and useless, now I'm considering changing the cost from a diamond to something else- like maybe a piece of cobblestone. Though that would still be kind of expensive resource wise for the effect.
