I'm using the electric wrench and would like to enable lossless mode. I have the mode key bound to 'M' but there isn't a clear indication if I have enabled lossless and if it is even in lossless mode. Any suggestions?

did you pay attention to this line:
Warning: The default keybinding of 'M' conflicts with other items in the mod-pack. Press ESC and goto the 'Controls' screen to rebind the 'Mode' key (',' works fine). ?

if this is not the case, then you`re probably playing with gt.

I did. I know the mode key works because hover mode works with the electric jetpack. I can only assume it's our friend, Greg.

For FTB Ultimate 1.1.2 (Minecraft 1.4.7):
M is by default mapped to the Mini Map options. Try to move this to another key. (Open Mini Map options, go to Controls ... and select another key.)
You should see then the message "Lossless Mode enabled" when holding M and rightclicking with the wrench selected.

Beta 152wgt (Minecraft 1.5.2):
It has the latest GregTech addon with the automatic lossless mode for the wrench. I've never used the version without GregTech (152ngt), but there it should still work with M + rightclick.

why should it? i thought greg made lossless the only option left, so there is no need for mode changing.

Not sure I understand your comment.
Beta 152ngt has only IC2 included, no GregTech here. The Electric Wrench comes from IC2 and without Greg tinkering around with the recipes and the API, it should still work with the original M+rightclick.
