This is a pretty brutal comparison for people who love building beautiful, complex pieces of art in Minecraft.

I wasn't criticizing. I'm happy there are as many different ways to play the game and have fun as there are players.

I was just saying *I* don't like the concept behind EE3.

I don't see the difference between EE3 and creative mode.

I decided I'll never use that mod when I was watching Direwolf LP and he was like "I spent 5 minutes looking for a desert for cactus but couldn't find one but I have another plan in mind for liquid pipes". I remember thinking liquiducts? those little cactus plants in the red-cobble biomes? No he pulled out a stone he got from killing a few zombies and changed roses into cactus- what a disappointment. I still like watching his vids but that was a letdown moment.
People complain about Gregtech making the game too hard, EE3 is just creative mode lite.

I absolutely agree, and I thought pretty much the same thig while watching his LP. And yes, this is a personal opinion. Still like DW and his way of doing things, don't like EE (thus far).

The only reason im complaining about this is on multiplayer servers you can turn a stack of gold ore into 32 diamond well when you use a macerator of course, or 1024 iron

EE2 was creative mode (and I enjoyed it being that) but EE3 surely isn't.

Hey, does anyone know how to make the minium stone transmute multiple world blocks? I can't figure out what key to use to change the size... or am I getting it mixed up with the wand of equal exchange which can swap out multiple blocks?

the minium stone can't, the philosophers stone, when released, will be able to.

Yeah, let's pretend we're playing vanilla and that iron, gold and diamond are the only ores in the game. Let's also pretend we can obtain every single item through Minium Stones, that could be fun as well.
I really believe people should abandon that vanilla mindset that diamonds are the end-all, be-all of the game, when playing FTB. Getting alternative ways to obtain it without grinding at branch mines is supposed to be a good thing.

This I can agree with. Diamonds are not all that and there are ways to get them without mining. I might not like EE but the fact you can make diamonds with it is not any reason for my dislike. People do need to get off the OMG DIAMONDS mindset. And more on the "what does this add or take away from my personal playstyle" mindset while also relizing that was it right for themselves might not be right for someone else. Like every other mod you always have the options to just not use it.

This gives me hope for some of the ridiculous people that are a part of the FTB community. Namely those that want the game to be set to hardcore with no way for anyone that ever uses the pack to change it.

I am vary Pro-Config I think all mods should have some level of contorl over the impact they have on your game.
I am also pro hard playstyles but I relize MC is difrent things to diffrent poeple.

What drives me batty is the amount of hate any mod gets and the idea that mod should be 'fixed' when at the end of the day mods by there nature are optional noone is forcing you to use it. And as ive said before if your playing on a server that forces a mod you don't like on you the issue is not the mod but the server. Talk to he admin, go elsewhere, or learn to deal with it.

EE3 adds "red water" or will do at least.
Yes, but it will not will world gen. You will get it through other means.

As for the rest of the thread, 4 gold is worth 1 diamond. For every 4 gold you find, there will be about 1 diamond. This is what Equivalent Exchange is about. Otherwise, yes, it should be called Taxed Exchange.

not true. Pahimar has said it will be world gen, that it will look like small oil spouts.

While most mods make the game different in some way that could be thought of like cheating in comparison to vanilla (Masserating as example). I can't think of ever using EE because personally i think it like cheating on a big scale.
I'll keep it on my watchlist to see if it changes in the future.

The idea behing macerating (and the other ore-doubling methods) is simply that you use much more metals than you do in Vanilla. Aside from some armor and tools you hardly use any iron in vanilla. So that all balances out more or less. I do notice however that in DW20 I have literal craptons of iron and are relatively short on copper and tin.

That's mostly because those two ores only spawn relatively close to the surface, thanks to TE. Aboveground stony areas, like some mountainous biomes, are some places where it's really easy to find copper lying around.

I'm talking about what my 3 quarries dug up, not about what I mined myself. It's really noticeable that with the new ore distribution copper and tin is a lot rarer than iron.

I agree with Copper - Tin I'm fine for, but copper... Loaded in gold though.

I have enough copper for my immediate needs, but not exactly rich in it. Making some brass or bronze objects will really hit my reserves. I like it though, does mean I need to plan my usage of copper more, and perhaps go off hunting for it while my quarry rips up all the other goodies out of the ground.

IMO EE3 isn' t a bad, unbalanced or OP mod as mAny others say it is. People complain about it soooo much just because of its different POV about things (compared to other mods) Although it's still a WIP, only thing i would change is the cost of inert stone (make it harder to make) but other than that everything is pretty balanced.. I mean, it isn't THAT hard to find diamonds (strip mine at diamond level and you get them in 10-20mins) which is pretty much as hard/easy as digging 128 clay blocks or cutting 256 logs. I'd rather say EE3 is intended for lazy people or those times 'when you need something specific but you aint got any' than to make everything unbalanced or op.. Looking forward to Pahimar's upcoming update :)
