Aluminum seems to be the only thing I am short on while playing on my friend's server. I was wondering if any of you knew what level to mine at or any tricks to getting more aluminum.

Tinker's Construct adds oreberries, which you've surely seen in caves while spelunking.

A fully-grown berry bush will return one berry of the appropriate type upon a right-click. Bushes will also spawn more bushes near themselves from time to time, so berries are totally and completely renewable.

There are bushes for iron, gold, tin, copper, and aluminum. The fruits of each of these bushes also happen to be equivalent to nuggets of the appropriate metal.

If I'm not mistaken, oreberry bushes need darkness to grow. So find a cave and throw some Aluminum oreberry bushes on the walls, and you'll eventually have an unlimited supply of aluminum.

Also, I'm not sure if MFR harvesters work on oreberries, although I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I also don't know if they left-click and return the block, or if they just right-click and give the berries. If it breaks the bushes themselves, I'd recommend messing with its settings or trying the Fruit Picker.

I've been using oreberries so far but they don't seem to grow quick enough to meet my needs... I guess It'll have to do for now.

Food bushes from Natura do spread. Ore bushes from Tinker's Construct do not.

Light level 11 or less, and will not grow or allow to be placed if exposed to the sky no matter the light level.

They do now. It's recent enough it might not be in FTB though.

Just finished testing a harvester out on oreberries and they work. There's no need to fiddle with any of the settings eithers.

If you find a bunch of aluminum bushes, use an upgraded harvester and you've got a stable source of metals. Another option would be to run around the surface looking for aluminum gravel, although it gets boring quickly.

a tip, I have noticed when using the watering can from Extra Ultilities you can make the normal berries grow alot faster, it might also work on the oreberries
