Hell all. I am running a ftb unleashed 1.1.5 server

I thought it would be a good thing to install dynmap so players could see a world map but the issue it it is eating up the ram faster then a fat man eats snake cakes. This is causing the server to crash and burn even when there is noone on the server.

So i have decided to remove dynmap and im looking for something better.
Can anyone suggest anything?

My recommendation is to set up dynmap without its internal web server, and instead use your own web server such as Apache (assuming you run Linux and have root access). This will force dynmap to render the map as json files and save it to the hard drive. You can then uninstall the dynmap mod itself and still browse the static map that has already been rendered.

In terms of "something better" I doubt you will find anything more polished and well developed than dynmap. Rendering a live map is by its nature a resource intensive task. You could try configuring dynmap to use low definition textures, by default I believe it uses high definition textures. Also, make sure it is configured to only render 1 tile at a time. Normally it tries to take advantage of multi-core CPUs and render multiple tiles simultaneously, depending on what your hosting hardware is this could be a very bad idea.
