Request (dw20) Tinkers Construct - Armor Modifiers

(Direwolf20 1.7 pack) How do these work?

Ive been trying to add the 2 lily pad to my boots, and I've tried a few different sets but none of them seem to work in the Tool Station (as indicated in the starting book). Are they disabled? Is there a missing step?

pretty sure it says tool forge. i put lillies on my boots.

What boots did you use? I've tried iron boots and some waders I found in a chest....

I finally figured itout... TC has it's own special boots you have to use...
