[DW20] Thaumcraft Enchantment Questions

Azanor has taken deliberate steps to keep silverwoods from being renewable by any means. Tools such as grafters and chainsaws won't work, and the drop rate is very low to keep you from farming them.

Thaumic grafters from Thaumic Bees double your chances of getting a sapling from silverwood and greatwood tree leaves. Using a Repair 2 thaumic grafter last night I was able to get a silverwood sapling and two greatwood saplings within 1/2 a trees worth of leaves each. The drop rate is still incredibly low, and the grafter eats vis like its going out of style when it repairs, but your chances are better with a thaumic grafter.

IIRC chainsaws drop the leaves and can drop saplings so you should be able to make an infinite loop of them from a single tree leaf.

That'll work for most trees, but not silverwood - and that's a feature, not a bug.

AFAIK there's no way to get unlimited silverwood saplings except by using Mystcraft.

The question now is:
Does Fortune III work on grafters in the same way as it does with RP sickles?

Because if it doesn't, RP sickles with Fortune III still seems to be a more reliable way of getting your saplings from those two trees.

I believe Repair is the only enchant that works on thaumic grafters.

Does Fortune really work with a sickle on silverwoods and greatwoods? It would certainly be much faster than using a grafter on each leaf block.

Well, either it works, or I have been extremely lucky with random numbers.
I managed to get 1-2 for each tree I used it on, but it was only 8 trees between my ssp and the smp.
