Literally it took me about a week to figure out basic stuff... like crafting. wiki was pretty weak.
I think that that mod spotlight, no matter the Aprils 1st nature of why it was made, is nontheless a brilliant video introduction to the vanilla minecraft that totally new players - perhaps exposed to modded minecraft as their first minecraft experience - can actually gain value from.
I guess direwolf wanted to keep it as an informative video, but it kind of ruined it for me as an april fools joke.
it'd have been hilarious if direwolf had acted like a newcomer to minecraft thinking he knows it all, and in the video he would do all the things you shouldn't do, with some added sound and video effects ofcourse to make it even more hilarious. something like "here we be walking the lands at nigh.... wait, is that a walking cactus? lemme come closer... hey, buddy, come over here. what do you want to say? ssssss... a word with a....... BOOOM
*scene cut* and in the distance we have a walking creeper, stay away from those, they're a bit cranky"

Its gonna to some pretty rough stuff to our finely tuned mod balance.
