DW20 mob spawning

Hi all

Recently set up a new DW20 server and the mob sapwning seems a little off. Plenty of the regular passive mobs spawning in but it is very light on hostiles. For whatever reason squid spawns seem pretty light too. Any suggestions for reconfiguring this?

I should add the only things tweaked server side were switching difficulty to hard and disabling the hats
