DW20 & Daybreaker: Horizons

Hi Folks,

Just a quick question for you all. I'd like to run the Daybreaker: Horizons pack and to do so, I'd need to be running java8, according to the logs/specs.

Since I also want to continue playing the current DW20 pack I'd also need to run java7.

Does anyone know a way to get this done? I tried uninstalling java7 and only running java8 but then my DW20 install wouldn't load.

Any thoughts or solutions are welcomed.

I know you can set the preferred Java version on MultiMC, and you may even be able to do it per pack, can't remember though. But that will allow you to switch between whatever Java version you need without having to uninstall the other.

I'm not sure what you're referring to here...would you be able to provide some more details?

DW20 1.7.10 surely must work with Java 8?

But just install both 7 and 8 and in the launcher click "options", "advanced options" and select the java needed for the particular pack.

What about the Legacy Java Fixer? Doesn't that work any more? Must admit I have it installed in my TPPI pack, but always just had Java 7 installed.

Running DW20 1.7.10 pack and Daybreaker both on last java version and never had any problems. So last DW20 pack certainly should run with java 8.

Kinda assumed(and think the others did too) that he meant the 1.6 DW20 pack. The 1.7 DW20 pack should run just fine with JAVA 8, it should actually be preferred.

From.what i remember the DW20 pack contains Java 7 checker in mods folder which prevents you from starting It with Java 8 (thats how.It worked in 1.6 at least)
There is a mod thats needs Java 7 or More
Either remove the Java 7 checker and Try with 8 or remove the mods if It Doesnt
Also i think.you can install both and specify in the launcher with Java to.Use for which pack

Short update: I installed Java8 once more, keeping it alongside the existing Java7 install (once more). Somehow and strangely enough it worked this time around. I'm starting to think windoooze was derping my earlier attempts.

As long as it keeps working, I'll be happy XD
