DW20 5.1.0 config weirdness...

So I've updated to the newest DW pack, and went to fiddle with the configs, as I like to do when I update, and I noticed, it appears there are a bunch of new configs for mods not in the pack... I know they don't do any harm, or cause any problems, but does anyone else have this?

ftb modpack team probably has one big folder of configs they use to maintain item id's across the packs and probably just copied in config folders they didn't need

This won't hurt you or your game at all, they're just ignored if the mod isn't installed. What it will do is help you on the off chance you want to install any of the other mods FTB hosts around its packs. Unifying the IDs and such makes the packs more portable and interchangable.

Actually this appears to be a bit of a bug. Some of the configs seem wrong. For example mmmPowersuits is calling for gregtech recipes. Obviously that's a problem in Direwolf20.

The configs may, but the code would check if GT was installed before leaning on anything from it I'm sure.

I am telling you with 100% certainty, right now, that this is false. I have a 5.1.0 server and I can confirm it doesn't. The config specifically disables all recipes but GT recipes, and the general policy is "manual configs override inferred settings."

I noticed a RopePlus config, as well. Seems we're getting another mod soon, possibly in the Ultimate Pack?

Edit: Actually, there's a few more...MineChem, MagicYarn, PLC...mmmmmm
