No, that's part of the Witchery mod. It now adds bigger villagers, and makes them more common

There is also a light blue tower going striaght into the sky.... any idea about that one?

Once I got closer I realized it was a slime island with one side of the slime pond not closed off. So blue slime water was falling from the sky. This world is getting strange lol.

Hahaha... just riding a boat up the slime waterfall to the slime island.... like a boss.
