DW20 1.10 Server Creation Fails

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title DW20 1.10 Server Creation Fails

Launcher Type FTB Launcher

Modpack Direwolf20 1.10

Modpack version 1.10

Have you modified the pack? No

Link to log file http://prntscr.com/da7sj3

Details of the issue The link above is to a screenshot of my command prompt when I try creating a server. First, I run FTBInstall.bat, then I change the EULA to true, then I run ServerStart.bat. I get a message saying "We appear to be missing one or more essential library files.". The list of around 15 missing files can be seen in the screenshot above.

It appears the Server install script can't reach some servers. I'm having the same issue with the Infinity lite 1.10 server install.

Code:
G:\Minecraft\Server\FTB Infinity lite 1.10>libraries\wget.exe -O libraries\net\minecraft\launchwrapper\1.12\launchwrappe
r-1.12.jar https://libraries.minecraft.net/net/minecraft/launchwrapper/1.12/launchwrapper-1.12.jar
--17:46:46-- https://libraries.minecraft.net/net/minecraft/launchwrapper/1.12/launchwrapper-1.12.jar
           => `libraries\net\minecraft\launchwrapper\1.12\launchwrapper-1.12.jar'
Resolving libraries.minecraft.net... done.
Connecting to libraries.minecraft.net[52.85.249.42]:443... connected.

Interesting. I ended up creating a server on my MacBook Pro with no problems, but still no luck with PC. Do you think there's anywhere to manually download the files?

Sounds more like an issue with Mojang's servers. The first time you run a ServerStart file it executes the FTBInstall script to download Mojang's libraries files need to run minecraft. This is done to save a little space in the server zip file and to comply with Mojang's EULA. Once the server does this for the pack it doesn't download them again unless the libraries folder gets deleted.

Given that the library files are from Mojang and don't change for a specific version of MineCraft. You could try one of the 3rd party server packs like "all the mods" and see if the library files are in it. If so just copy the libraries and the minecraft server jar file over.

I am also having this problem. I tried to install a FTB lite as well and it has the same issue. The log shows the SSL connection to libraries.minecraft.net fails and then says it is missing essential library files. I downloaded a vanilla server and it works fine, I was hoping this would install library files that I could try to copy/paste but it did not seem to generate any that I could find.

For what it's worth I also tried a couple other FTB packs from 1.7 and they are all giving an error at the same install point and failing to start.

Anyone found anything so far?

Well I did not find a fix, but I was able to determine it has something to do with my network/PC connecting to the minecraft.net server. I was able to start a server temporarily from work to test, and I did not get the SSL error when I ran "serverstart.bat"

I was then able to copy the entire "libraries" folder from my server files on the work computer and remote them to my home server. I was then able to start the home server. I haven't been back home yet to see if I can actually play on the server, but I got past the error I was having before the the server seems to be up and running as it should be.

Not sure what the problem is from my home network to minecraft.net, especially since there is definitely more network security on our work network then my home network. Hope that helps someone.

For all the people needing help I found out you can get the files from going to your normal .minecraft file and copying them from in there.
If you don't know how to get there (for Windows) click the Window button and type in %appdata% into where it says "search programs and files" and click enter
Then just double click .minecraft and you should be there!
