Like the title says, I realized my world is pretty crappy but I invested a bit of time into it and have some materials and objects I would like to keep while moving to another better world.
I tried copying the saves/<worldname>/playerdata/.dat file but the moment I load the world it changes back to the original values.
Also I was looking for a way to get everything into my inventory to move it all at once, but there doesn't seem to be an omniwrench type of tool, I would need something to pick up FULL chests and storage objects
Help?

You could place all of the contents of your chests into ME Storage Drives, or Actually Additions Storage Crates with Item Keeper Upgrades. But do note the Item Keeper upgrades only work One time. I would put the items into Storage Drives from AE2 or the other AE2 like mod, Advanced Storage I think it's called?

Well, that's the only part I can help you with. You could make a list of the most important things you have and just spawn in items for yourself in World 2. OR, you could avoid it all entirely and just teleport yourself to random places until you find a nice place to live!

Teleport - open chat and enter /tp x y z (where x, y and z are co-ordinates. Y is height, just remember 64 is sea level to avoid dropping yourself from 1000m in the air :) )

OR

- Move to the nether, take all your stuff with you.
- Then close Minecraft, reopen it and start a new world with a new seed.
- Once you have a seed you like, either grab the DIM-1 folder from your old world (that's the info for the nether) and copy it into the new world folder
- OR grab level.dat from the new world folder (this is the file containing the seed for the overworld and a bunch of other stuff) and copy&replace into your old world.

If you're going to copy DIM-1 over, make sure stuff is IN THE WORLD, ie in chests and stuff rather than in your player inventory.

Oh and i'd back up your world before you do anything like this, just in case ;)

Nah,
just copy your player data to the new world and you'll be golden.

And remove the new player data from the new level.dat using NBT-Explorer
