This line says it all

java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead limit exceeded

Increase the RAM allocated to the game. The 1.10 packs need at least 5GB and I recommend 6GB. If you only have an 8GB system you might not have enough RAM to play this pack.

So I asked my friends who currently are playing it about how much RAM they have allocated and they said they only have 4GB and it works perfectly fine for them. I have a better computer than most of them and more RAM. Is there another reason why it crashed for me?

All I can tell you was that I was getting a similar problem when using 4GB. Like you I also have a 16GB system. Once I increased the Java allocation to 6GB all of it went away and the pack started work. With 1.7.10 mod packs I always used 3-4GB. But this newer 1.10 stuff is bloated beast that needs more.
