Does the map writer mod add to lag?

Atm I am using zans minimap and are thinking about changing it for the map writer mod.

I really don't think there's much difference.
Also, there is a simple questions and simple answers thread found here. ;)

As long as the minimap itself is turned off, you should be ok.
With the minimap on I get 10-15 fps. With the minimap off I get ~20 fps.
