Does not show my profile

I just made an account and when i try to launch it says to select a profile. when i click select a profile my profile is not there. i tried creating an account that way but it says invalid username and password. please help?

Welcome. Be sure you have a premium, paid for, minecraft account and are using that user name and password. If you have a premium minecraft account this could be caused by where you have the launcher installed. Follow this guide to install the recommended way.
