Does anyone else like exposing Vanilla players to mods for the first time?

Like the title says.

It's seriously my favorite thing to do on Minecraft. To take a purely Vanilla player and bring them onto a mod server and show them all of the cool things that mods can do. It's why I made THIS video.

I usually work my way up the tech tree with them. We make a new world, dig out a starter base and then get started with some mod stuff. Usually an AE grindstone. They're always shocked to see that they can double their ores. By the time we get to huge MFR farms or Thaumcraft Golems, they're totally blown away.

It's my favorite thing to do in Minecraft. Anyone else really enjoy this sort of thing?

I do. I find it hilarious though that after showing my sister some of these cool modpacks, she still doesn't care at all about mods. I mean, the only mod she actually cared enough to even PLAY was "The Spirit Of Christmas 2015" and that was because of all the reindeer (they look like pigs xDDD). Two of my favorite mods (Galacticraft and AE2) I showed my sister, and she said "boooorrring". I tried to show her magic mods, like Botania, Thaumcraft, etc. Well, you get it by now xD. I have had much better cases though. xD

+1 this thread. I just can't imagine someone not being interested in mods. I understand not being a tech player, but even then there are plenty of decoration mods out there. I mean the sheer number of things you can do with microblocks and carpenter blocks, wow! As far as I am concerned, if Minecraft wasn't moddable, it would have died after a year or so of popularity.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Given how MASSIVE the vanilla community is (the modded community is friggin huge, but tiny compared to vanilla)- MC would not have died. However the game would be lacking a few things like pistons, hoppers, and frames slimeblocks.

on topic : not really as my friend is not really interested in mods.
Depends on what they like in MC- theres a mod for just about every taste. Introduce him/her to Tall Worlds and see what they think.

I friend of mine got me into minecraft with mods. First time I ever played Minecraft was a Direwolf lan server. I've never played vanilla minecraft and never will. Too much of what I enjoy is actually from mods, my wife is the same way.

Some of my best times on my servers have been showing people how to use mods and chatting with them as they discover just how much they can do with them

Does anyone want to grab some newbies and join me on my nodded server for some fun. Need a higher base player for how powerful my server is. I'm using a custom modpack that has all of ftb infinity 2.5.0 an I added a few extras to give it a nice edge. You can find it on the technic platform its called real true PvP pack. If you can't find it just type in foulblade1 packs and you will see it. I've added security craft open modular turrets are magic 2 pneumatic craft and a few others new players will have a blast! Server is pretty installed on the pack so just get it and you are off! Hope to see some new faces it is a PvP raid pack but everyone is so friendly lol. Who would of thought

Sorry been running the Aura Fury Community servers for about 3 years now, don't have time to join another server. Besides FTB InfiTech 2 (Greg Tech based mod pack), eats all your time lol. If you are ever looking for a challenge check it out.

Also, one of the mod packs I run would be a very good PvP pack to run if you are looking for a new pack to put on a server, its called Dark Moon, info can be found on our community website about it (aurafury.com). Might be something to consider.
