You can see some random edges, especially on darker blocks
I got it both with or without Optifine, is there some mod which causes the issue?
Thanks :D

That's odd, as normally something like that is caused by a texture pack, and having the pixels out of alignment, but those appear to be default textures, so shouldn't be happening, unless for some reason you have a texture pack that scales up default textures to a larger size.

Ive had this before. If I recal it happened to me when using some of the advanced graphic options like AA or anisotropic filtering in the quality section of optifines video settings. I had to restart the game after turning them off to get it to reset again.
It was most noticeable on bassalt jusst like the volcano pic you posted.
Hope this helps but it's all I can remember about when it happened to me.

I know you said you get it ithout optifine but some things take a restart to take affect it seems.

I get this if I set the mip mapping option in Optifine to anything other than zero.

If you get it without Optifine, check your graphics driver settings if they are forcing mip mapping or other texture interleaving methods (globally and/or for javaw.exe).

This is obviously an odd thing. I have mip mapping enabled and it's fine. I use the tri linear. So as you said seems that it can occour using any of the advanced texture options. Happens to me with using Anisotropic and AA enabled. I use Nvidia GFX card btw. exact model escapes me atm. So guessing brand and default values etc are what causes different reactions for different people here.

But at least the op can be assured it's not just him and it is fixable when you find the cause. (providing his example isn't something else entirely)

oooh, I had this and found a fix... now what was it?

I believe you need to open up your nvidia control panel (mine is in my hotbar) and under the tab 3D Settings -> Adjust Image Settings with preview; Here you will have to check the radio button for the "Let 3D application decide"

Edit: link to video I found

Oh well done Sir.
Just tried this out, and then set up Anisotropic and AA in options and headed straight to the nearest volcano.
It worked and MC looks better than ever. Thx.
