I'm playing an Ultimate SSP, wondering what would happen if disabled the GregTech mod in an already in progress game world? Would all the stuff already crafted using GregTech recipes get disabled / bugged.. or what?

Anyone ever try this?

They'd most likely dissapear.

All things GregTech would be removed from the world, and they would not be added back by adding the mod back, if I remember correctly.

If you cannot stand GregTech, you better make sure to be ready to lose all of the wonderful things it adds. A better option might be to set the GregTech difficulty lower or address any of the other config options to make it easier. Good luck!

Set the GregTech difficulty.. lower? That sounds like a great option, is it a configuration file adjustment that needs to be made?

I'd like to point out that disabling greg tech will also remove greg tech world gen which mean that in already generated chunk you will have hole instead of ore, especially in the nether where gregtech add big ore patch inb some places.

What don't you like about it? I mean various people hate/like it for various reasons.
Well, personally I don't like that he changes other mods recipies. I care not for solars so that doesn't bother me. The Bronze nerf is annoying, the changes to tools needing steel I am undecided about. His attitude I dispise. I dislike the incredibly vague changelog. A huge config is great but it'd be nice if he made more of an effort to sort it nicely.

I have added GT to my direwolf20 world, nerfed the ever loving shit out of it, so am basically running with all the original recipies + GT machines.

Oh and the most hated thing is his hardon for the oredictionary. CHOOSE A GODDAMN RECIPE! Is it electric circuit or BC chipset, don't make NEI flicker like a spaz on meth.

I like how other mods fight back.

The Bronze nerf is annoying,

Zomg this is so 6 months ago, Raven! Turn if off if you have Forestry installed and the game compensates. The only reason this problem existed was because of an centrifuge exploit that no longer works. There is a standing wave of hate over GT for this, but it's a poorly understood fact that Gregtech makes accessing nearly infinite sums of copper and tin so trivial that the bronze nerf is hardly an issue.

Actually, I wanna push back at you on this. This flexibility and interoperability is a very good design concept and we should be happy about it. GT lets you make things in a variety of ways with different input costs. It means that your work building your BC and forestry infrastructure isn't isolated. It means you can say, "I am flush with joules, so let's use those rather than emeralds."

I wish more mods did it this way. Having NEI "spaz out" is a tiny, tiny, tiny price to pay for a mod integrating well and giving you more options. And maybe, just maybe, NEI should do a better job here rather than pigeonhole mods into perfectly linear tech progressions.

I have turned it off, doesn't mean I can't dislike the default state of it.

perhaps you're right, we just need a better way to look at the different ways of crafting a certain recipe because as it stands is so very subpar. Perhaps it would stay on a single recipe but include arrows that would show each item that would fit there?
