I have looked through alot of posts and I was unable to find anyone with a problem like mine. It is worth noting that this error causes the game to crash and the console to close. Also a friend of mine uploaded his direwolf20 1.4.6 folder to his dropbox and I downloaded that, the issue still persists. Here is the log from the notepad ForgeModLoader-client-0. Side note, I spent about a half hour just now attempting to shorten my log so it would fit in a post. after removing everything that was not an error it was still too long. The first text file is the one from direwolf20_1_4_6\minecraft\crash-reports. The second & third are the console logs uploaded in 2 parts.

Try -XX:permSize=128m and delete -Xmx512M

Edit
Code:
-XX:permSize=128m

If you still have issues try to add more memory 256, 512, 1024 ...

Also post here if you have any issues

Finally got around to trying this out. It gave another error. 'Error: Could not find or load main class Xmx512M"
The launcher already passes its own xmx argument which is why you are getting this error. Try these arguments made by Eyamaz. Be sure to use the one that is listed for the FTB launcher. If you look carefully at the arguments he has created there is no xmx argument.

Edit: Sorry those arguments will not work as you have 32bit OS and Java. You are limited to 1GB and that cannot run any 1.6.4 packs, except FTB Lite2.

that's what I was afraid of. thank you so much for all your help. since I won't be able to play this my back until I get a better computer. does anyone buy any chance think my computer would be able to run a 64 bit operating system with 64 bit Java. I have an Intel Pentium dual-core processor e6500 2.93 ghz, 2 gb ram pc8500 ddr3 1066mhz, Asus GeForce GTS 450 1 GB gddr5 video card. I don't know if my computer can handle it does anyone think my computer can handle a 64 bit operating system?

Instruction Set 64-bit
I just recently updated OS from 32 to 64-bit for my E8400. Yours seem slightly older but looks like it supports 64. Be wary of memory though, at least my motherboard did NOT support DDR3 memories which are now the most common ones.
