So there I was, creating a pick and a hammer with Tinkers' Construct. I decided to try out silk touch on them and go make some big tunnels.

Sweet! I come back with a bunch of ore blocks.

A lot of them I can process normally. Others.. well... hmmmm

Apatite Ore, Peridot Ore (BoP and Project Red), Ruby Ore, Sapphire Ore, Quantum Ore, Moonstone Ore, Chimerite Ore, Tanzanite Ore, Blue Topaz Ore, you get the idea. I can't pulverize them. I can't macerate them.

I guess I didn't think the silk touch thing through.. what do I do with these ores? I'm into automation if that helps. I don't want to drop the block and hit it with a regular pick. What am I missing?

I use an Autonomous Activator and Terrain Smasher combo activator places, smasher smashes and places into a chest which is then emptied into my AE system. If I cared about Fortune I could use a second activator with a Fortuned pick in it but meh I have enough of all of those things.

That wasn't a half bad idea, gonna set that up for the decent amount of unpulverisable ores i get that is not needed in large amounts. (even though i just yesterday realised from NEI that Cinnebar ore from TC is a great source of cinnabar for TE ;) )

Get some mob essence and some energy into a block smasher from MFR, and enjoy that fortune III without needing to manually break everything.
