I noticed that most of the 1.6.4 don't seem to work on 32-bit, but I actually managed to get in our server twice running the latest Direwolf20 modpack. It seems to be quite random, most of the times I'm getting spammed with the following error (about 10 times a second), but sometimes it just seems to work and I can play for about an hour after getting kicked for being out of memory.

########## GL ERROR ##########
@ Pre render
1282: Invalid operation

Anyone have any idea or suggestion on how I could get it to work? I can get into the Minecraft client, but I can't maximize it for some reason, the game just freezes when I attempt to and when I try to join our server the game just crashes.

I'm running Windows 7 on 32-bit with 4GB RAM.

The only FTB pack that is supported on 32-bit operating systems is FTB Lite 2. Please try to run that, and if it too doesn't run, please post your console log to pastebin.com and post the link in this thread.

As I previously mentioned, I got it to run twice. So apparently it does run, just not as well. As I also said, the error I am getting which is different from my friends who are on 64-bit is the text I posted right there.

Can you then post the full console log to pastebin.com? Just a tiny snippet doesn't really explain much.

The mod author of rotarycraft, amongt others, has an faq, linked below, that mentions the GL error and a possible fix. Try it to see if it works.

But what tristam said is correct that all but one of the 1.6.4 packs require 64 bit os with 64 bit java to run properly.

People have ran some of the other packs with success but that does not mean it will work the same for others.

The fix he mentions (unless I missed something) is F3 + T, which I assume is to be used in-game, but I can't even get in-game in neither single player nor multiplayer... :(

Minecraft is also trying to use Java 6 over Java 7. Try uninstalling Java 6 and see what happens. Also uninstall Java 1.7.0_07 as well, there' no need to have old versions installed.

Tried doing that, but now the Minecraft client won't even open. According to the log it crashes before I am even in the main menu.

I may have screwed myself by just deleting the folder instead of going through control panel (which as a result won't delete them anymore). It still crashes even though I downloaded the newest java version, regardless I am probably just going to try and upgrade to 64-bit, I've been meaning to for some time but I've just been putting it off. Thanks a lot for your help though!

Ouch. Yeah. Always try the proper way to uninstall first. Just deleting the folder can screw things up royally. There's ways to clean it up, but it usually involves some registry editing, which is always risky to do.

Good luck on the upgrade!
