I am going to try and complete the forestry backpack configs for DW20's S5 SSP modpack like I attempted with the 1.4.2 FTB mod pack beta A.

So far I've only fixed some of the miners and diggers missing ID's.

Feel free to comment on blocks and items I'm missing or ID's I've misplaced or stuffed up completely.
I'm still somewhat undecided on what to do with the farming items (seeds and such) but I have decided not to use the adventurers backpack for anything. Forestry has set that backpack aside for the end user to modify as they see fit and I won't change it's function. It's simply just not my place to do that.

I really wish there was an easier way to add items to the adventurers backpack. I do not relish the thought of flagging through config to find item numbers. Nor, going through Nei to do the same thing. I wish they would just remove it and make something different. IMHO, obviously.

I don't understand this sentiment. Are you compelled to use it despite not liking to?

Yes, yes I am. It's potentially very useful especially since we don't have alchemy bags. I just think its not good design to have a user go through config files to use a part of the mod. i understand its a small part and i understand I dont have to use it. again i know i dont have to use it. just wish I could without having to configure it. before people say it. yes, in this case Im being lazy and I dont care what people think of it. lol

Then use the RP2 canvas bags.

I was wondering why you had extra IDs in there, you have it set up for silk touch blocks too? :eek:

looks like I had the same idea, configure the Forestry backpacks to accept the xycraft and Thaumcraft drops. I was going to add these to the Adventurers pack because I don't normally use it. My first attempt crashed my game :), looks like I need to leave spaces out and just use the numbers followed by the semicolon.

Just tested it, and the amber and xycraft crystals went straight into the pack, thanks for pasting that. Now I just have to find which chest I put the miners ans diggers packs in!

Largely I did a cut and paste from the link put up by Malakai and added a few numbers. The list below may not contain all of the items form Xycraft and Thaumcraft.

# add blocks and items for the adventurer's backpack here in the format id:meta. separate blocks and items using ';'
backpacks.adventurer.items=24256;24257;24258;24259;24260;220:5;25263:6;25264;25264:1;25264:2;25264:3;25264:4;25263:6;30243;220:5;221;688;200;

You don't have to dig through the configs for the item id's, they are the ones that show when you mouse over an item in an inventory. This

these are the IDs of the redpower canvas bags for the adventurer backpack
5258;5258:1;5258:2;5258:3;5258:4;5258:5;5258:6;5258:7;5258:8;5258:9;5258:10;5258:11;5258:12;5258:13;5258:14;5258:15
do note that the seed bag is not in there.

Diamonds to the one that makes a forestry addon that adds a block to the game where you can place your bag and have it display the items its set to store, and add/remove items by dropping/removing ghost items from the inventory of the block.

With the new Forestry Bag API (for the adventurer bag) that Sengir just added, this is entirely possible now, probably! Perhaps we will indeed see such a mod, eventually...
