DireWolf20 Recent ModPack Issue

Hey so I haven't been on DireWolf20 for over a month now and my friend and I realised that there was a DireWolf 20 update.
When I opened up my Launcher it said that I have Java 6 and it could cause some problems. Sure enough, my game wouldn't work. I then went to the Java website and it told me that I have Java 8. And I tried updating it and my computer said that I had Java 8.

I looked further into the new DireWolf 20 pack and it said that FTB does not support/work with Java 8. Yet it was telling me that I had Java 6. So I guess the 2nd best thing it could find on my computer was Java 6.

So I have come to the conclusion that I need to downgrade my Java 8 to Java 7.
I have looked everywhere for 2 days for the answer and have not succeeded.

Anyone know how to do this?

Yeah as Scottulus has alluded to, chances are you have too many versions of java. That official java checker will only look for the latest version, it wont tell you whether you still have the old versions which for some applications can cause problems as the programs may be relying on classes and methods that were changed or don't exist.
