Search for %appdata% and a map will pop up. In that map you will find .minecraft and loads of other maps, but theres one called ftblauncher. Delete that map and close the window. Go to FTB's site and download the launcher and put it in a new map on the desktop. Start FTB launcher and everything is fine.

haha yeah its a really annoying issue. I've even searched for these maps you talk about and they do not exist either. In fact, besides the launcher itself, there is nothing titled 'ftblauncher' on the mac

I believe the folder he's referring to can be reached by Finder -> Go -> Go To Folder... /Users/[yourusername]/Library/Application Support/ftblauncher

I had the same problem, and deleting the above folder didn't help. I ended up also deleting my entire FTB install (after moving saves to a safe location and then back after installation was complete) and only then was able to successfully downgrade to 1.0.0.
